As such we have an extensive network of shipping and logistics agents that we trust to move your car to the United Kingdom. Once here, we'll assist with the entire process of modifying the car for compliance and the paperwork.

Can I import an Aston Martin to the United Kingdom?
Yes. Aston Martin is a prestigious luxury brand, and importing their cars can be a great choice for enthusiasts looking for top-tier craftsmanship and performance.
Because the cars were built here in the first place, a good number of the Aston Martins we bring in are coming home rather than arriving for the first time. That usually makes the paperwork easier, not harder.
What documents do I need to import an Aston Martin to the UK?
The necessary documents may include the car's original title or registration certificate, a bill of sale, proof of ownership, a valid passport, and the car's export certificate from the country of origin. You may also need a completed customs declaration form and any other documentation required by the UK authorities.
If the car is European and under ten years old you will also need a Certificate of Conformity. We order those on customers' behalf every day.
Do I need to pay import duties or taxes on an Aston Martin?
Yes. The amount depends on factors such as the car's value, age and emissions rating.
- Vehicles registered in the EU attract 20% import VAT, based on the purchase price of the car and any associated transport costs.
- Vehicles registered outside the EU attract 20% import VAT and 10% import duty.
- If you are moving to the UK, have lived outside it for more than 12 months and have owned the car for more than 6 months, you may be eligible for a tax and duty free import under Transfer of Residence.
You do not need to find a customs broker for this. We are fully authorised HMRC CDS registered customs agents and make the import declaration on your behalf.
Are there any restrictions on importing an Aston Martin to the UK?
The UK has specific regulations regarding car imports, including emissions and safety standards, and it is important that the car you wish to import meets them.
Which route your car takes depends mainly on its age and where it is registered now:
- European, under ten years old — Certificate of Conformity, registered via the GB Conversion IVA scheme.
- Outside Europe, under ten years old — an IVA test.
- Over ten years old — type approval exempt, but still needs an MOT before registration.

How do I transport an Aston Martin to the UK?
You can choose container shipping, roll-on/roll-off (RoRo) shipping, or air freight. The most suitable method will depend on cost, convenience and the specific location of the car.
For a car of this value we would usually recommend a container rather than RoRo, and we move European cars on our own enclosed transporter. Marine insurance runs for the whole journey.
Do I need to register the imported Aston Martin in the UK?
Yes. Once the car arrives in the UK it must go through the registration process with the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency (DVLA). That means a UK registration certificate, number plates, and any applicable registration fees.
We hold a service level agreement with the DVLA to register imported passenger cars within 10 working days, and we handle the V55 paperwork for you.
