It takes approximately 14 days to complete NOVA.
Your NOVA is vital. Without it, you can not register your car.
It is possible to import a car to the UK by yourself. However, it can be a lengthy and often complicated process.
My Car Import offers a service to manage it for you.
The DVLA provides this advice in their import guide:
If you are bringing a car permanently into the UK from abroad you must do the following:
- Provide HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) with the car’s details within 14 days of its arrival.
- Pay any VAT due before DVLA can successfully register your car.
- After notifying HMRC about your car, you must register, tax, and fully insure before using it on the road. A UK resident must not drive a car displaying foreign registration number plates in the UK.
