IF YOU DO DECIDE TO PURCHASE THE CAR WITHIN THE EU?

In theory, if you already have a car located in the EU that is registered in another European country it can make the route to registration much simpler which can cut down on the costs to transport the car.

Depending on the age of the car it will either require an MOT or it’ll be exempt from requiring an MOT. We’ll take care of all the paperwork on your behalf and perform any modifications as required.

Sometimes bargains are residing within the EU, usually owned by those that have transferred their residency in the past. So don’t discredit the EU entirely.

Equally, if the tax has already been paid in another EU country you shouldn’t owe any VAT on bringing it into the United Kingdom.

WHAT HAPPENS ONCE YOU HAVE YOUR VEHICLE?

My Car Import takes care of the entire process of shipping your American car. We’ll collect your muscle car from anywhere in the USA and deliver it to the closest port.

When it arrives the car is inspected at the port to ensure there is no damage and a full car report is produced prior to shipping your car from the USA to the UK.
It awaits loading onto a shared container which reduces the overall shipping cost.

Then we wait for the vessel to set sail with the container.

When it arrives in the United Kingdom you’ll have to pay import taxes relational to the age of the car and a few other factors. But we take care of all the paperwork and calculations on your behalf.

Afterwards, it is delivered to our premises. Ready for modifications to be conducted. If you would rather convert the car and MOT it yourself we can also arrange that.

REGISTERING YOUR VEHICLE?

Unless the muscle car is much newer – it won’t require an IVA test. But modern cars will require an IVA test.

We can advise on the specifics depending on your car. After we have modified your car it’ll be tested accordingly and the registration application can be submitted to the DVLA.
