Yes we can. If your motorbike is not in the United Kingdom and you require it moving we can assist. We use experts in moving your motorbikes to avoid issues with your motorbike.

We understand that your motorbike can be damaged it if it is handled incorrectly, and the safest method of transporting a motorbike is inside a long wheelbase transporter with loading ramps and the correct fastening points.

Often inexperienced motorcycle movers will incorrectly strap the bike down which can lead to issues with the suspension components of the motorbike. We use fully insured experts who are passionate about motorbikes.

If we are shipping your motorbike we can also offer crated and uncrated solutions for moving your motorcycle between continents, but please mention that in your quote. If your car is being strapped within a container they will do their best to strap the motorbikes down at the wheels as opposed to compressing the springs.

Obviously the best solution is to crate the motorbike which enables it to be moved without any straps as the box is built around the motorbike.

What is the cheapest way to to ship a motorcycle?

The cheapest way to ship a motorcycle internationally is typically through Ro-Ro (Roll-on/Roll-off) shipping. Ro-Ro shipping involves loading the motorcycle onto a specialized shipping vessel where it is securely strapped in place. This method is generally more cost-effective compared to other shipping methods like container shipping.

Ro-Ro shipping is cheaper because it doesn’t require the use of a shipping container, which can add additional costs. However, it’s important to note that Ro-Ro shipping may have limitations in terms of destination availability and the level of protection offered to the motorcycle during transit.

Here are a few reasons why Ro-Ro shipping is often the cheapest option:

No Container Costs: Since Ro-Ro shipping doesn’t require a dedicated shipping container, you save on container rental or purchase fees.

Lower Handling Expenses: Ro-Ro shipping involves the motorcycle being driven or rolled onto the shipping vessel, minimizing handling and labor costs compared to container shipping, where additional loading and unloading steps are required.

Space Utilization: Ro-Ro vessels are specifically designed to accommodate cars like motorcycles efficiently, allowing for optimal space utilization and cost savings.

While Ro-Ro shipping may be the cheapest option, it’s essential to consider the specific requirements of your shipment. Factors such as the destination, distance, additional services needed, and the value of your motorcycle should also be taken into account when choosing the shipping method. It’s advisable to consult with reputable shipping companies or freight forwarders specializing in car transportation to obtain accurate quotes and determine the most cost-effective shipping solution for your motorcycle.

What is a motorcycle dating certificate?

Motorcycle dating certificates play a crucial role in authenticating and documenting the history of classic motorcycles, particularly those produced before the era of computerized records. These certificates are essential for vintage motorcycle enthusiasts, collectors, and riders seeking to register or re-register their bikes for road use in the United Kingdom.

What are motorcycle dating certificates?

The primary purpose of a motorcycle dating certificate is to provide evidence of a motorcycle’s manufacturing date or age when the original manufacturer’s record is unavailable or incomplete. It is particularly relevant for vintage motorcycles that may not have official documents or whose records have been lost over time.

When applying for car registration, road tax, or insurance, an accurate dating certificate is often required to prove the motorcycle’s age and ensure compliance with registration regulations. These certificates provide an important link between the motorcycle’s history and the modern-day administrative processes.

How do you get one?

Acquiring a motorcycle dating certificate typically involves engaging with an authorized issuing organization or motorcycle club that specializes in vintage motorcycles. These organizations have experts who carefully examine various historical records, archived materials, and manufacturer databases to determine the motorcycle’s accurate manufacturing date.

To obtain a dating certificate, the motorcycle owner needs to provide essential information about the bike, such as its make, model, engine number, and frame number. If available, any previous historical documents or evidence can also be submitted to support the authenticity of the motorcycle’s age.

Why are they needed?

Dating certificates issued by reputable organizations and motorcycle clubs are generally well-regarded and accepted by authorities for registration purposes. It is important to ensure that the organization issuing the certificate is recognized and authorized to provide such documentation.

Motorcycle dating certificates play a critical role in preserving the history of classic motorcycles and are essential for enthusiasts who wish to enjoy their vintage bikes on the road legally. By obtaining an accurate and legitimate dating certificate, motorcycle owners can confidently register their cherished classics, ensuring their continued enjoyment and preservation for years to come.

Should you crate your motorcycles for shipment?

Whether you should crate motorcycles when shipping them depends on the shipping method, the distance, and your preference for added protection. There are two common methods for shipping motorcycles: Ro-Ro (Roll-on/Roll-off) shipping and container shipping.

Ro-Ro Shipping: In Ro-Ro shipping, motorcycles are driven onto a specialized vessel and secured on the deck. Crating is typically not required for Ro-Ro shipping, as the motorcycles are exposed to the elements during the voyage. However, motorcycles should be properly prepared for shipping, such as removing mirrors, draining fluids, and securing loose parts.

Container Shipping: In container shipping, motorcycles are loaded into a shipping container, which is then sealed and placed on a cargo vessel. Crating is not mandatory for container shipping, but it can provide additional protection for the motorcycle during transit. Crating ensures that the motorcycle is secure within the container, reducing the risk of damage during handling and transport.

The decision to crate a motorcycle when shipping it depends on several factors:

Distance: For short distances or local shipments, crating may not be necessary. However, for long international shipments, crating can offer an extra layer of protection.

Type of Motorcycle: If you have a valuable or delicate motorcycle, crating might be a good option to safeguard it from potential damage.

Shipping Conditions: Consider the potential risks during shipping, such as rough sea conditions or handling at ports, which may influence your choice to crate the motorcycle.

Budget: Crating adds to the shipping cost, so you should weigh the added protection against the cost implications.

If you decide to crate the motorcycle, ensure that it is done properly with suitable packing materials to prevent any shifting or damage during transit. Consulting with a professional motorcycle shipping service or freight forwarder can help you make an informed decision based on your specific situation and requirements.

Can we ship a dirt bike?

Yes, you can ship a dirt bike using various shipping methods and services. Whether you’re moving or selling a dirt bike, shipping it can be a practical option. Here’s how to go about it:

1. Choose a Shipping Method:

a. Freight Services: If you need to ship the dirt bike a long distance, you might consider using a freight or shipping service that specializes in transporting motorcycles and other cars. They will handle the logistics of transportation.

b. Courier Services: Some courier companies also offer motorcycle shipping services, especially for shorter distances. Check with local courier companies to see if they provide this service.

c. Specialized Motorcycle Shipping Companies: There are companies that specifically focus on shipping motorcycles, including dirt bikes. They often have experience in handling motorcycles securely during transportation.

2. Prepare the Dirt Bike:

  • Clean the Dirt Bike: Give the dirt bike a thorough cleaning to remove dirt, debris, and mud. This not only helps keep the bike in good condition but also prevents any dirt from getting onto other items during transport.
  • Document Existing Damage: Take clear photos of the dirt bike from all angles before shipping. This will serve as documentation in case there’s any damage during transport.
  • Drain Fluids: If you’re shipping the dirt bike for an extended period or overseas, it might be necessary to drain the fuel and other fluids to prevent leakage.

3. Packaging and Securing:

  • Use a Pallet or Crate: If shipping through a freight service, consider placing the dirt bike on a pallet or crate to keep it stable and protect it during transportation.
  • Secure Loose Parts: Secure any loose parts, such as mirrors, handlebars, or exhaust, to prevent them from moving during transit.
  • Protect the Bike: Use padding or blankets to protect the dirt bike’s surfaces from scratches.

4. Arrange Transportation:

  • Choose a Carrier: If you’re using a shipping company, select a carrier that meets your needs in terms of cost, delivery time, and service quality.
  • Provide Information: You’ll need to provide the necessary information about the pickup and delivery locations, contact details, and any specific instructions.

5. Tracking and Communication:

  • Get Tracking Information: If available, request tracking information so you can monitor the progress of the shipment.
  • Stay in Touch: Maintain communication with the shipping company to address any questions or concerns that may arise during transit.

6. Receiving the Dirt Bike:

  • Inspect Upon Arrival: When the dirt bike arrives, carefully inspect it for any damage. Compare the condition to the photos you took before shipping.
  • Document Issues: If there is any damage, document it with photos and notify the shipping company immediately.

Remember that specific requirements and procedures may vary depending on the shipping method and company you choose. Always follow the instructions provided by the shipping company to ensure a smooth and secure transport process for your dirt bike.
