We liaise with the collection point
Ensuring all aspects of the transportation process have been detailed prior to travelling to collect your car is crucial. We send the right equipment and drivers to safely and efficiently transport your car to the UK. All parties involved in the process are kept up to date and timings of our collection are mutually agreed.
We collect your car
Our drivers take the utmost care when collecting your car. In depth condition photos and videos are taken and shared with you in near realtime as we collect. We load cautiously and secure your car to our decks with the best strapping equipment possible. Necessary documentation is shared with the collection contact to satisfy they have handed over custody of the car.
We transport your car
Our unmistakable liveried trucks will transport your car between the UK and Europe and whilst on the way, you can log into our customer portal and track the truck’s progress on its way to your destination, meaning there is no confusion or lack of progress updates throughout the process.
We keep you updated
Our belief is we can never over-communicate to our customers. Utilising our customer portal, phone, emails and live tracking of the truck, you will never be in the dark throughout the enclosed car transport process.
We clear your car through customs
Our in house team of UK CDS customs agents will clear your car through customs with the correct amount of import VAT. Alternatively, if we are transporting your car into Europe, we have an extensive partner network of customs agents to make sure your car travels to its destination with all correct procedures and with minimal paperwork fees.
We deliver your car
Prior to the arrival of the car at your destination, all delivery formalities have been discussed, including where we should hand over, any access issues and anything more you would like us to do, to guarantee you are satisfied with the service. We provide documentation to you for the journey, agree condition of the car and the process is complete.
European Transport Case Studies
Nicki & Ian Wood
Nicki & Ian Wood contacted us to transport their recently purchased Buick Skylark from Langeskov, Denmark. After liaising with the Danish dealer, a collection date was agreed and their vehicle was the first to be collected on one of our regular trips out to Europe. Owing to the size of the vehicle, we made sure we collected their car in the right order with others, to make sure it was positioned in the correct space within one of our 6 car trailers. Nick & Ian kept up to date by viewing live tracking of our truck, making it’s way across the North Sea on the ferry, through Denmark and then during the return leg before we delivered to them in the UK. HGV access was tricky close to their home, so we agreed a nearby location to drop off that worked for both parties. We thoroughly enjoyed transporting this car for Nicki & Ian and hope they enjoy many happy miles in their new classic.
Barton Racing & Toyota Gazoo Racing
We were contacted by Barton Racing to collect their new Supra GT4 racing car from Toyota Gazoo Racing, near Cologne, Germany. This project also had the challenge of a comprehensive collection of spares to accompany the vehicle. We set aside two spaces in one of our 6 car enclosed trailers to make sure there was enough room for everything we needed to transport back to the UK. The vehicle and parts were also imported under a limited company, so we organised a PVA clearance on the UK CDS system with our in house customs team. This meant the import VAT for the vehicle and spares was posted to the company’s next VAT return, rather than having to transact upfront during entrance to the UK. Given we also transported parts with the vehicle, it was essential that the delivery details were all agreed and the team at Barton Racing knew exactly when we would arrive so they could be ready to offload. We wish Barton Racing good luck in the future and hopefully many victories!

Kate contacted My Car Import following tracking down her perfect Jaguar XJS. Formerly a US vehicle, now located in the Netherlands, the car had always lived in a warm climate and therefore the bodywork was in very good condition. Although many XJS are available to purchase in the UK, this one stood out for Kate and we were very happy to help collect it from the Netherlands for her. Kate also opted to use our UK testing and registration service, so the car was delivered to our facility in Castle Donington, where it will undergo MOT testing, followed by DVLA registration, meaning the car will be taxed, plated and ready for UK roads when she chooses to collect from us, or have it delivered to her UK address. We’re sure the XJS will cover many more miles in the UK and Kate will enjoy her tenure.

How quickly can you collect my car?
We typically work 1-2 weeks ahead at any time for collections and deliveries in Europe. Once you enquire we can let you know the next available dates our enclosed car transporters can move your vehicle.
Do you collect using enclosed trailers?
Yes, all of our trailers are enclosed, this offers the most security and protection for your vehicle whilst in transit to and from Europe.
Is my vehicle insured whilst being transported?
We hold comprehensive insurance for all of our vehicles we transport in our enclosed trailers. If your vehicle is of very high value, let us know when you enquire, so we can ensure we have the appropriate cover in place.
Can you help to register our car in the UK?
Yes, a large part of our business is the official importation and registration of vehicles in the UK, so make sure to select that you would also like a quote for this when you enquire.
Do you keep us updated with progress?
We never want you to not know the plan, so our office team provide regular updates to you ahead of collection, during transit and before delivery. What’s more, we provide you with live GPS tracking of the truck, so you can see where we are and when we might reach the collection or delivery point. We aim for transparency and accuracy at all times.
Do you organise export and import paperwork?
Our prices include all paperwork needed to successful export and import vehicles to and from Europe. We are UK CDS customs agents, so enter our own import declarations on your behalf. We have a wide network of European partners to organise exports and imports in Europe, so every scenario is covered.
Access to our collection or delivery point is difficult for a HGV, what should we do?
Please let us know if this is the case when you enquire, so we can plan a pre-agreed collection or delivery that our lorries can visit unhindered.
Our car is a non-runner, can you help?
All of our enclosed car transporters have winches, so we can plan to collect your vehicle in an order that will allow us to winch it on and off the truck, meaning we can still handle your request. Please let us know if your car is non-runner when you enquire.
